for George Bush - if he appeared before an American Court to answer to a charge
of inciting an illegal war, he would be in the horns of a dilemma. The US courts
on behalf of the current administration is about to launch a multi
billion-dollar action against the tobacco industry. They claim that the industry
knew of the dangers of tobacco for many years but caveats in published research
failed to reveal the extent of the threat. The contradiction is that on the one
hand caveats by the tobacco industry are believed by the government to be fraud,
whilst caveats in intelligence about Iraq are not.
